Not always the problem with falling asleep unless I overtired. Then it gets really frustrating. I have time remaining, I went to bed and I can not sleep. It makes for a happy time, a recent brainstorm work MyForbies, some of the ideas he had to sleep at ease and make it more fun.
A good book or talking on meeting MP3. Go to bed a little early to listen. Not only will you learn, but you get to sleep quickly.
Test: Books to help me go to sleep. I can easily stay up all night with a good book and I tried to put the book down at a good time. Mp3-s, on the other hand, worked like magic. Hear a word seems to distract me from my thoughts just enough so that I can drift off to sleep. The challenge is taking the headphones off at the appropriate time. Too early; and I go back to the state wide awake. Too late and I end up sleeping with people talking in the ear.
I recently started doing this, and it is amazing how much more soundly asleep. Most of us are familiar with a gratitude journal. Right after you get comfy on the pillow, I have 2 things: I praise God. If you do not believe in God, just praise a higher power, the world, etc. mothers who have no such belief can praise other event of the day or a child. And then another thing, have only one person or thing you are grateful for. I do this all the heart, because my husband is usually asleep before me. So it is quiet. For sure, in what seems like only 2 or 3 minutes, I am sound asleep. And what could be better than sleeping soundly?
Test: While I read the research that people who practice gratitude get more sleep and better quality of sleep, it has not happened to me in appreciation part of the bedtime routine. When I tried it, I found myself to be distracted. Once I thought of something to be grateful for, my mind will immediately jump onto something else. To overcome the distraction, I challenged myself blessed to count as I will be counting sheep and to at least 10. I can not remember getting to 10, so I must have been asleep in the past.
